Today is my mom’s birthday, so that calls for a special poem. That tells her how grateful I am. And how much I have learned from her. It might not be the biggest gift, but sometimes the smallest gifts are the most special ones, right? At least, that’s what I take from this poem by New-Zealand author Lang Leav. Happy birthday, mom!
You have told me
All the things
I need to hear
Before I knew I needed to hear them
To be unafraid
Of all the things
I used to fear,
Before I knew
I shouldn’t fear them.
