Today is my mother’s 60th birthday. On this day, there are a lot of things I want to say to her. But most of all, I want to say thank you. She has been everything I needed, before I knew I needed it. This poem seemed to capture that message. So, thank you, mom, always and forever. And happy birthday.
Her hands held me gently from the day
I took my first breath.
Her hands helped to guide me as I took my
first step.
Her hands held me close when the tears
would start to fall.
Her hands were quick to show me that she
would take care of it all.
